Without a doubt, this is the best visualization of wind patterns to date. This site, created by Many Eyes presents near-real time interactive wind data, including windspeeds, historical maps, and the ability to zoom in on your favorite windy parts of the country (except Hawaii and Alaska :( but still cool.)
